21. December

The considerations at the beginning of the film refer only to the stationary hourglass. In the case of the lying hourglass, there is no flowing sand, so that there cannot be any additional forces. The comparison of the measurement in the two orientations standing vs. lying shows whether an hourglass with flowing sand is heavier than one with stationary sand. So does the direction/orientation of the hourglass play a role?

18th December

Please make sure that the glass is "overfull", i.e. the water is higher than the edge of the glass. The glass should also not be too large. A drinking glass, e.g. a mustard glass works best.

08. December

If you don't have a wooden train at hand, you can also use the groove of a book cover as a rail. Conduct the experiment and observe the moment of collision very closely. The proof of the pudding is in the eating ;)

7. December

Please make sure that the top of the aluminum foil, where the paper pattern was when you cut it out, is still visible from above on the shish kebab.
